輔仁大學圖書館RapidILL使用分析與經濟效益評估

摘要

輔仁大學圖書館是從2008年5月下旬開始加入RapidILL,為更深入了解RapidILL的使用狀況,本文分析了2008年6月至2009年12月之電腦日誌檔,分析結果顯示這19個月期間的總申請次數為8,983次,其中教職員申請次數為1,839次(佔20.47%),研究所學生(碩士和博士)申請次數為6,367次(佔70.88%),其餘為大學部學生。由於最大的使用者族群為研究所學生,本文也進一步分析其系所背景,發現各研究所學生利用RapidILL的情況差異很大。在抑制期刊經費成長的經濟效益方面,98學年度已藉由RapidILL來完全凍結期刊經費的成長,初步估計約節省新台幣3百萬元。

Title The Study of RapidILL Usage Analysis and Economic Assessment at Fu-Jen University Library

Abstract

A 19-month period of log file, from June 2008 to December 2009, has been analyzed to understand the usage conditions of library’s RapidILL service at Fu-Jen University. The analysis reveals several important findings. Firstly, the total number of usage reaches 8,983 times, and graduate students and faculty (or staffs) account for 70.88% and 20.47% of the usage, respectively. Secondly, further analysis of graduate students reveals that there is a big difference on usage among departments. Lastly, in the aspect of economic assessment, an estimated 3 million NT dollars has been saved by curbing the expenses on journal subscriptions in the fiscal year of 2009 by utilizing of RapidILL service.

臺灣地區大學圖書館進行知識管理相關活動之研究

摘要

二十一世紀是知識經濟時代,知識已成為組織機構中最重要的資源,即使大學這種非營利組織也開始關注知識管理的相關議題。圖書館是人類知識的寶庫,而大學圖書館更是大學的心臟,其在所屬大學導入知識管理相關活動時,應可扮演舉足輕重的角色。本研究採用文獻分析與問卷調查法,調查臺灣的大學圖書館進行知識管理相關活動之現狀與態度,研究者普查臺灣175所大專校院圖書館,回收有效問卷168份,回收率為96%。研究結果呈現從學校與圖書館的角度,受調圖書館對內部/外部/顯性/隱性知識之管理、知識交流、隱性知識顯性化等層面現在的表現與未來的規劃;此外,亦排序了圖書館主管認為在推動知識管理相關活動時之困難與阻礙因素。本研究期望使大學了解大學圖書館在知識經濟時代擔任全校知識管理中心之可能性,並使大學圖書館主管與館員了解其可能扮演的新角色。

Title A Survey of Taiwan’s Academic Libraries in Implementing Knowledge Management Related Activities

Abstract

The twenty-first century is the era of knowledge economy; knowledge is more important than ever for any organization. Universities are also beginning to pay attention to knowledge management. The library is the treasure of human knowledge, and a university library is the heart of the university. When the university implements knowledge-management related activities, the university library should play a decisive role. This study utilizes the methodologies of literature review and questionnaires to survey the current status and attitudes of implementing knowledge-management related activities in Taiwan’s academic libraries. The author sent out 175 questionnaires and there were 168 effective ones replied (the return rate is about 96%). The findings were presented from the university’s and library’s viewpoints, showing the current performance and future planning of the management of internal / external/ explicit / tacit knowledge, knowledge interchange, and the transformation of explicit to implicit knowledge. In addition, the difficulties and obstacles of implementing KM are also identified. The author anticipates the research results will help people realize the possibility of permitting the university library perform as a knowledge-management center, and help the library director and librarians of the university library understand their responsibility and new roles in this knowledge economy era.

大學圖書館員對圖書館建築規劃典型訊息之認知

摘要

業主與建築師在建築設計溝通過程中,常因雙方專業背景差異所產生之「資訊不對稱」現象,而導致雙方誤解對方的想法及企圖。本研究以問卷調查365位大學圖書館員,以確認性因素分析統計方法界定館員認知各類圖書館建築設計主題分類與屬於圖書館員或是建築師在意之範疇,對設計溝通資訊之分類方式,及建築需求書中呈現專業典型訊息之方法。上述典型訊息之合宜釐定,可協助圖書館員及建築師利用圖書館建築設計資訊進行合理的溝通,以及制定符合兩造需求之圖書館建築需求書。

Title University Librarians’ Cognition of the Typical Messages forLibrary Building Programming

Abstract

Misunderstanding of the partner’s ideas and intentions is quite a common condition in the design communication process between the client and architect, because of the “Asymmetric information” phenomena which come from different professional training for librarians and architects. Three hundred sixty five librarians are investigated with questionnaires. The statistic method – Confirmatory Factor Analysis method is applied for analyzing librarians’ categorization of the themes for library building design, as well as the themes, could be assigned to either the librarians’ or architects’ domains, and categorization of design communication information, and the presentation of professional typical messages into the architectural requirements for proposal. The appropriate defining of typical messages should form an effective communication base to help librarians and architects to set a good library programming to meet their needs.
