技專校院圖書館網站使用者資訊需求與使用研究:以大漢技術學院為例

摘要

本研究針對技職體系的技術學院使用者進行探討,探究技職體系的學生對圖書館網站的需求及意見,期望從「使用者觀點」設計符合使用者資訊需求與使用行為的網站,以提昇圖書館網站使用性。
本研究以大漢技術學院圖書館網站為研究個案,以大漢技術學院學生為研究對象。首先採用文獻分析法進行相關文獻的探討,接續以「焦點團體訪談法」及「問卷調查法」進行實徵研究,以探討技專校院學生的資訊需求、技專校院學生對圖書館網站的使用經驗、瞭解技專校院學生理想中的圖書館網站內容或服務項目以及技專校院學生對圖書館網站資訊架構的看法。本研究共進行兩組的焦點團體訪談,及進行348份有效問卷的分析。
研究結論:1.技專校院學生的資訊需求是多元化的,不僅包括學業的,更以日常生活資訊為主,包括工作相關的、升學相關的、經濟、生活資訊、休閒娛樂、地方資訊等等;2.一般大學圖書館網站的資訊內容無法滿足技職校院學生之需求;3.技專校院使用者需求度最高的前十項網站服務項目分別是「提供獎學金、助學金訊息」,其次依序為「就業相關資訊連結」、「證照相關資訊連結」、「本館館藏查詢」、「提供工讀訊息」、「升學相關資訊連結」、「中文資料庫檢索」、「工商產業資訊連結」、「生活資訊連結」、「電子參考工具書連結」;4.技專校院使用者對圖書館網站資訊架構重視程度不高,符合其資訊需求的網站資訊內容或服務項目才是使用者最需要的。
研究建議:1.學校網站首頁應有明顯的圖書館網站連結;2.應依照母機構的性質進行圖書館網站的規劃;3.應多舉辦圖書館網站利用指導及推廣活動以提高圖書館網站的使用率;4.應根據多元化的資訊需求建置網站服務項目;5.應增加圖書館網站的加值功能;6.圖書館館員應發揮資訊組織的能力。

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the information needs of students at institutes of technology and their attitude toward the library website, with the view of designing a library website that would be more user-oriented to increase its utilization.
The research uses the library website of Dahan Institute of Technology to investigate the information needs of the institute's  students. Interviews and questionnaires were applied from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives to find out the students' usage experience and their opinion of an ideal library website. Two focus groups were interviewed and a total of 348 valid questionnaires were collected.
The following conclusions can be made:
1.Students' information needs are inevitably varied, as they not only require information that supports their studies, but also help them in their daily lives, such as on finding a job, pursuing further studies, financial aid, and recreation and leisure, etc.
2.Most university library websites do not provide contents that meet students' information needs.
3.The top ten services most needed by students from the library website are: information on scholarships/financial support, job links, information on professional certification, library catalogue search, part-time work announcement, information on further studies, Chinese database search, industry and business news, recreational information, and electronic references.
4.Students care little about the structure of the library website, more about the service and content.
The following suggestions can be made:
1.The institute home page should provide a clearly noticeable link to the library website.
2.The library website should be designed and structured in accordance with the institute's features.
3.The library should organize instructional programs and activities to promote the utilization of its website.
4.The library website should provide services of different kinds based on students' information needs.
5.The library website should have enhanced added values.
6.Librarians should make good use of their information organization ability.

資訊需求者與計畫檢索者問題分類之比較研究

摘要

本研究之目的在分析資訊需求者與計畫檢索者對於相同檢索問題在分類上的差異。本研究由10位資訊需求者提出檢索問題並進行檢索,再由31位計畫檢索者針對此10個問題進行59次檢索。本文主要在比較此10位資訊需求者與31位計畫檢索者對同一檢索問題在分類上的差異,並探討此差異對檢索行為所造成之影響。本研究對檢索問題分類上的差異係從檢索問題之複雜性、專指性、前提假定三構面進行分析。本研究發現,相較於資訊需求者,計畫檢索者認為同一檢索問題所認知的複雜性較高,專指性亦較高,並傾於直接將前提假定用來進行檢索。

Title A Comparison of Question Classifications between End-users and Project Searchers

Abstract

The project is designed to analyze the difference of question classifications between two groups of people: the end-users who have real information needs and the prohect searchers. Ten end-users address their search questions and proceed to do the search, while 31-project searchers conduct 59 times of searching on the ten questions posed by the end-users. The main purpose of this paper is to compare the classification differences of the search questions in terms of their complexity, specificity, and presupposition. The result of this study reveals that the project searchers not only perceive the questions in a more complex and specific way but also tend to proceed the search directly by using presuppositions of questions.

客家文化研究生之資訊尋求行為:資訊視域之觀點

摘要

本研究旨在探討客家文化研究生之資訊尋求行為,研究對象為三校客家學院的學生。以深度訪談進行資料蒐集,並利用資訊視域之概念,邀請受訪者繪製個人資訊尋求過程,以瞭解客家文化研究生在學業情境中,資訊尋求的情形、資源的偏好以及影響資訊尋求的因素等。 本研究結果顯示,資訊尋求來自多種管道,首選資源超過一種。個人資訊視域會因不同狀況或人際因素產生改變,推薦型及聚焦型資源扮演資訊獲取之重要角色,個人對資訊認知會影響其資訊選擇與使用。

Abstract

This study aims to explore the information seeking behaviors of graduate students for Hakka Studies. The research targets are graduate students from three Colleges of Hakka Studies. Depth interviews were employed in the research. This study applied the concept of information horizon. Therefore, the interviewees were requested to draw a map of their information horizon in research context in order to collect data about their information needs, their preferences for these resources and those factors which affect their information seeking behavior. The research result indicated that the search for information is carried out through various channels. There is more than one type of firstchoice resource. An individual’s information horizons might change due to different situations and interpersonal relationships. Recommendation or focus type resources play an important role in seeking information. Individuals with different information cognition might affect their information selection and use.
