摘要

由於社會信息結構變化、計算機網路普遍以及多媒體時代來臨,“信息社會”已成為社會發展之必然趨勢;同時,也對大學圖書館在資源建設、信息提供、用戶服務、管理方式等層面均產生巨大衝擊。本文主要以二十一世紀大學圖書館所具備之特徵,說明其應有之智能化、信息社會化、現代化及數位化等功能,並指出其未來在行政管理、資源建設、自動化發展和館員素質等方面都將面臨挑戰。

Abstract

With the change of information structure, the popularity of computer networks, and the advent of multimedia age, “information society” has led a tendency for social development; in the meantime, is also making dramatic waves of impact on collection development, information providing, user service, and management for academic libraries. This article mainly intends to address four functions of academic libraries based on their characteristics in the 21th century, which are intelligent systemization, information socialization, modernization, and digitalization. Besides, the author points out future challenges in administrative management, collection development, automated systems, and staff qualifications should be confronted.

使用者的資訊技術與素養﹐和使用者利用教育與使用者服務有循環互動的關係。圖書館的使用者服務(含使用者利用教育)之規劃﹐影響因素與考量依據﹐應包括資訊技術訓練與資訊素養蘊育的界說﹐與圖書館及其服務事項的定位問題。大學圖書館究竟要提供何等使用者服務﹐端視其所屬大學與圖書館本身自訂與被認定的角色任務而定。基本上﹐大學圖書館的使用絕非止於實用技術層次﹐因此其使用者服務勢必兼顧技術與素養層面。

Title From "Skills" to "Literacy" – on University Library's User Services: Based on the Papers & Discussions of a Conference

Abstract

The information skills and literacy of users interact with and interrelate to user education and user services. The planning of library user services (including user education) should take into consideration the definition and scope of information skills and literacy, as they are to be adopted by the library in correspondence to the positioning of the library and its services. What sort of user services should be provided by a university library depends mainly on the set and perceived roles of the library itself. Essentially, use of any university library should by no means be confined to the practical and technical level, thus making it necessary for its user services to take care of both the skills and literacy aspects of user elements.

摘要

「隨選視訊系統」為大學圖書館利用新興科技輔助教學的重要實例;而透過系統評估準則之建立,不僅讓已建置隨選視訊系統的大學圖書館能夠瞭解日後改進方向,更為其他圖書館提供客觀之參考資源。因此,本研究即以國內五所大學圖書館為研究單位,分別從管理者與使用者觀點,瞭解大學圖書館隨選視訊系統應具備的條件,藉此建置一套實際可行的評估準則,進而為其未來發展提出若干建議。

Title The Evaluation Criteria of Video on Demand System in University Libraries

The new technology Video on Demand system (VOD) used in university libraries has proved to be a success. An evaluation of VOD system indicates that further improvement of this new technology is needed. This paper tries to establish some criteria of evaluation for this system in terms of its users and management. The criteria provided can eventually be used for other university libraries in Taiwan.

摘要

圖書館自動化與網路化之目的在於提昇圖書館全體作業之效能,增進讀者滿意度。本研究係調查我國五所大學圖書館館員、一般讀者及圖書資訊學相關研究所研究生,對大學圖書館在自動化與網路化後提供之資訊服務品質是否提昇之看法;以瞭解大學圖書館各項資訊服務之表現良窳與需要改進之處;並根據問卷調查結果,比較三個群體之認知差距。最後提出建議,作為我國大學圖書館提昇自動化與網路化後資訊服務、館員自我改善及圖書館資訊學相關研究所研究生未來從業準備之參考。

Title The Promotion of Information Service Quality Resulted from Library Automation and Network in University Libraries in Taiwan and Other Related Questions

Abstract

The aim of library automation and network is to enhance the efficiency of operation and offer satisfaction to its readers. A survey was conducted among three different groups: university libraries, common users, and graduate students from Institution of Library and Information Science. This paper first compares the cognitive differences among the three groups involved according to the results of this survey and then makes some suggestions about the promotion of the quality of information service, librarians’ self-improvement, and the occupation preparation for graduate students.

危機管理中新聞處理工作之探討:以公立大學圖書館為例

摘要

任何對組織產生不良影響,並且需要啟動危機管理的事件即是危機。以公立大學圖書館而言,某些服務政策導致師生之抱怨、讀者館員間意見不合之衝突,以及讀者在館內抵觸法律或文化之違規行為等皆有可能產生危機,造成諸如影響圖書館聲譽、降低服務品質、威脅館員讀者安全等負面效果。所以圖書館最好建立一套危機管理程序解決問題;此時,若有傳播媒體前來採訪,則必須執行這套程序中的新聞處理機制,妥善應付記者們在採訪新聞方面之要求。公立大學圖書館之新聞處理機制包括選擇與培養稱職的發言人、遵循法制以澄清錯誤報導和訂定完善的新聞處理規範等,俾能於危機形成而引起媒體注意時,妥善進行溝通互動,做好新聞處理工作。

Title Responding to the Media in Public University Libraries During a Crisis

Abstract

An issue that results in negative effects against a certain institute and requires crisis management is considered a crisis. For public university libraries, a possible crisis ranges from policies that may arouse complaints from faculties and students, disagreement between users and librarians, to user behaviors that are against regulations. Those issues may turn out to be critical events that may lower the service quality of the library, threaten the security of librarians or patrons, furthermore damage the library's reputation. Therefore effective crisis management must be implemented in time. In the meantime, the PR (public relation) mechanism must also be turned on to meet the demands of the media. To deal with the media appropriately, the PR mechanism in public university libraries should include an competent spokesman, standard procedures in dealing with the media, and requesting clarification on incorrect reports.

大學圖書館館員資訊素養之研究

本研究旨在探討大學圖書館館員資訊素養與進修/學習意願的現況,依據2000年美國大學暨研究圖書館學會之「高等教育資訊素養能力標準」(Information Literacy Competency standards for Higher Education)及Eisenberg & Berkowitzn(1988)所提之資訊素養六個養成步驟,將資訊素養分為認知資訊需求、取得所需資訊、評估組織資訊、有效利用資訊、瞭解資訊倫理等層面以及進修學習意願構面,設計「大學圖書館館員資訊素養之研究」調查問卷,經由專家審查與進行預試,以因素分析及信校度考驗修正後,再針對臺灣地區35所公立大學的圖書館館員,採普查方式進行調查,共發出600份問卷,回收375份,有效問卷338份。本研究以敘述性統計、t檢定、單因子變異數分析、皮爾森積差相關及迴歸等方法進行統計分析,再根據研究分析,提出研究結果與建議。

Title A Study of Academic Librarains Information Literacy in Taiwan

Abstract

The aims of this study are to investigate the gate of information literacy and learning intention of the academic librarian of the National Universities in Taiwan from the variables of different background, i.e. sex, age, affair, service years, service department, service area, to analyze the correlation between the information literacy and learning intention of the academic librarian. The investigative questionnaires are adopted in this research. The study was aimed at the academic librarian of the 35 National Universities by general inquiry. First, there was a tryout of 150 questionnaires designed according to the evaluation list of the academic librarian information literacy. Then, a series of items, factor and reliability analysis were processed to establish the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. A test of 600 questionnaires was sent to academic librarians. A total of 375 questionnaires were returned and 338 were valid. According to the collected data, the statistical analyses of descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis were performed.

大學圖書館組織創新之研究

摘要

不創新即死亡,是目前許多企業管理者的共識,也說明創新對於組織之重要性。本文擬以大學圖書館為對象,闡述組織創新如何運用於大學圖書館。首先,介紹組織創新之意義及內涵,其次,探討大學圖書館組織創新之因、內涵、需考量之因素、面臨的障礙及其成功之道。最後,作者認為,創新已成為圖書館時勢所趨之潮流,而大學圖書館若欲在未來學術傳播中繼續扮演重要角色,就需善用資訊科技及運用館內同仁創造力從事創新,以提供更好的使用者服務。

摘要

本研究以輔仁大學圖書館數位互動學習教室為例,探討管理學院師生使用狀況。本研究結果顯示大多數管理學院學生肯定該數位互動學習教室所提供之配備,尤其是筆記型電腦之使用較為正面,但對於無線網路則要求快速連線。管理學院應用數位互動學習教室之合作學習模式包括:小組討論、體驗活動、電影教學。大多數學生認同數位互動學習教室能幫助同儕間共同學習、完成小組學習任務、取得即時資訊,並提供學習空間彈性,以及多元討論與互動環境。

Abstract

This research explores the use of the Digital Interactive Learning Classroom at the Fu-Jen Catholic University Library by students of the College of Management. The classroom was used for collaborative learning, such as group discussions, experimental activities, and movie instructions. Most students considered the Digital Interactive Learning Classroom helpful to their learning, through collaborative learning, team work, and quick access to information. Students also commented that the Digital Interactive Learning Classroom could be used for courses requiring more discussion and practice. The learning space provided a flexible environment for discussion and interaction. The research showed that most students at the College of Management were positive about the facilities, especially the laptops, provided in the classroom. Many, however, needed faster Wi-Fi connection speed.

輔仁大學圖書館RapidILL使用分析與經濟效益評估

輔仁大學圖書館是從2008年5月下旬開始加入RapidILL,為更深入了解RapidILL的使用狀況,本文分析了2008年6月至2009年12月之電腦日誌檔,分析結果顯示這19個月期間的總申請次數為8,983次,其中教職員申請次數為1,839次(佔20.47%),研究所學生(碩士和博士)申請次數為6,367次(佔70.88%),其餘為大學部學生。由於最大的使用者族群為研究所學生,本文也進一步分析其系所背景,發現各研究所學生利用RapidILL的情況差異很大。在抑制期刊經費成長的經濟效益方面,98學年度已藉由RapidILL來完全凍結期刊經費的成長,初步估計約節省新台幣3百萬元。

Title The Study of RapidILL Usage Analysis and Economic Assessment at Fu-Jen University Library

Abstract

A 19-month period of log file, from June 2008 to December 2009, has been analyzed to understand the usage conditions of library’s RapidILL service at Fu-Jen University. The analysis reveals several important findings. Firstly, the total number of usage reaches 8,983 times, and graduate students and faculty (or staffs) account for 70.88% and 20.47% of the usage, respectively. Secondly, further analysis of graduate students reveals that there is a big difference on usage among departments. Lastly, in the aspect of economic assessment, an estimated 3 million NT dollars has been saved by curbing the expenses on journal subscriptions in the fiscal year of 2009 by utilizing of RapidILL service.

大學圖書館員對圖書館建築規劃典型訊息之認知

摘要

業主與建築師在建築設計溝通過程中,常因雙方專業背景差異所產生之「資訊不對稱」現象,而導致雙方誤解對方的想法及企圖。本研究以問卷調查365位大學圖書館員,以確認性因素分析統計方法界定館員認知各類圖書館建築設計主題分類與屬於圖書館員或是建築師在意之範疇,對設計溝通資訊之分類方式,及建築需求書中呈現專業典型訊息之方法。上述典型訊息之合宜釐定,可協助圖書館員及建築師利用圖書館建築設計資訊進行合理的溝通,以及制定符合兩造需求之圖書館建築需求書。

Title University Librarians’ Cognition of the Typical Messages forLibrary Building Programming

Abstract

Misunderstanding of the partner’s ideas and intentions is quite a common condition in the design communication process between the client and architect, because of the “Asymmetric information” phenomena which come from different professional training for librarians and architects. Three hundred sixty five librarians are investigated with questionnaires. The statistic method – Confirmatory Factor Analysis method is applied for analyzing librarians’ categorization of the themes for library building design, as well as the themes, could be assigned to either the librarians’ or architects’ domains, and categorization of design communication information, and the presentation of professional typical messages into the architectural requirements for proposal. The appropriate defining of typical messages should form an effective communication base to help librarians and architects to set a good library programming to meet their needs.
