由於電子資源蓬勃興起，大學圖書館紛紛引進以滿足師生教學研究之需求，然同時預算規模卻未見增加，加以電子資源市場，尤其是電子期刊部份，每年皆以平均7%～10%漲幅成長，使得圖書館對電子期刊使用及其效益，需要有更清楚的了解與掌握。本研究目的希望能探討電子期刊E-Metrics評鑑相關理論與研究，以ARL E-Metrics計畫為基礎，對大學圖書館電子期刊提出績效評鑑模式芻議與實證分析。

Due to the fast growth of electronic resources, there is a trend for university libraries to acquire such resources to meet the research needs of their users. The libraries' expenditure for electronic resources, especially electronic journals, has been growing at an average rate of 7% to 10% each year, an increase unmatched by the yearly budget. Therefore, it is important for libraries to identify the real usage of the acquired electronic journals, and their benefit to researches at the institution. Through empirical analysis, this study aims to formulate an assessment model for a library's subscription of electronic journals.

機讀編目格式（Machine-Readable Cataloging，簡稱MARC）是圖書館長久以來用於組織書目資訊的必備工具。國內圖書館普遍採用中國機讀編目格式（CMARC）來處理中文資料，然而我們對於CMARC欄位的實際使用情形卻沒有足夠的了解。本文以Moen與Benardino所進行的MARC研究為基礎，由臺大圖書館之圖書類型書目資料檔取樣，進行CMARC欄位使用情形之分析研究。研究結果發現，本樣本的1,256筆CMARC書目資料中，有64%的分欄未被使用，而且有超過80%的使用集中在7%的分欄。根據研究結果，作者提出一些供CMARC修訂單位、各圖書館編目單位以及編目館員參考的建議。

The Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC) format is an essential tool for libraries to store and manipulate bibliographic information. In Taiwan, many libraries use CMARC as a major means to process bibliographic data. Still, we do not have enough understanding about the actual utilization of content designation in CMARC. Based on the research of Moen and Benardino, this study intends to examine the utilization of the fields and subfields of CMARC. A sample of 1,256 records was extracted from the bibliographic database of the National Taiwan University Library. The results show that 64% of all subfields designed for book materials were never used, and 7% of subfields account for more than 80% of the utilization of content designation.

在我國檔案工作中，檔案價值鑑定是一項比較薄弱的工作環節。於國內尚缺乏檔案鑑定實施經驗，是為提升檔案鑑定與清理效能，本研究首先剖析我國檔案鑑定制度之設計與運作，再將我國的檔案鑑定制度設計理念與實施經驗與美國、英國、加拿大及澳洲等四國進行比較後，提出未來改進吾國檔案鑑定機制之策略，並進而推展至全國各機關據以實施。

This article discusses the improvement strategy of archives appraisal in Tai-wan. First, it introduces the design and operation of archives appraisal systems in Taiwan. Next, it compares the design concept and implementation of archives appraisal systems in Taiwan with that in other countries, including U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia. Finally, it gives the conclustion and provides some suggestions for future research on this subject.

大學圖書館身負支援學術研究與教學的使命，追求卓越的服務品質，對於提振大學學術研究的風氣是一大助益。而以讀者為導向的服務品質評量正是幫助圖書館瞭解讀者評價與看法的最佳途徑之一，對於提昇服務品質具有正面效益。本研究以LibQUAL+ 評量工具為基礎，考量國內大學圖書館環境，以內容分析法、讀者訪談及問卷調查等方法，研究符合我國大學圖書館需求且具體可行的服務品質評量指標，並探討國內大學圖書館實施服務品質評量的情形以及對於實施服務品質評量的看法與期望，俾供日後評量服務品質之參考。

University libraries that provide quality service would enhance academic research on campus. User-oriented assessments on service quality serve as a tool to help libraries understand readers' needs and opinions. The authors attempted to develop a set of workable assessment indicators based on LibQUAL+ to reflect the university library set-up in Taiwan. Content analysis, interviews, and questionnaires were used to find the essential items in service quality assessment for university libraries. Questionnaires were also used to investigate the implementation of service quality assessments for university libraries, and to collect opinions on selected issues.

大英圖書館電子館藏發展的基礎，除了訂定館藏發展政策外，並推動有關電子館藏建置的多項徵集計畫，借鏡大英圖書館的發展經驗，本文介紹該館館藏發展策略及其推動電子館藏建置的相關計畫或政策，包括：電子出版品法定送存工作計畫、網站資源徵集政策、館藏數位化計畫及其數位保存政策，最終綜合分析擬具結論，期許提供我國國家圖書館電子館藏發展規劃的參考。

The development of the electronic resources collection in the British Library is founded on its collection development policy and electronic resources acquisition plans. In this paper, the electronic collection development plans of the British Library are taken as examples to explain their state-of-the-art programs, including voluntary deposit of non-print publications, web archiving, collection digitisation, and digital preservation policy. From the study, conclusions are proposed as reference for National Central Library in Taiwan.

由於資訊爆炸、在經費有限而網路無限的情形下，21世紀的人類面臨了醫療科技空前的快速發展。沒有一個醫學圖書館或資料單位，在此種情況下能夠達成蒐集足夠之資料並提供完整服務之目的，只有靠合作才能勉強應付，故圖書館網際網路以資訊基礎之館際合作資源分享成為不可避免的趨勢。本研究採用文獻分析法、問卷調查法並配合訪談等方法進行。所設計的問卷調查表針對以全台十七所各級榮民醫院所組成之「榮民醫院醫學資源數位化合作網」之現況、問題、困難、滿意程度等為範圍而加以研究，並將蒐集之資料加以分析、整理後，提出結論與建議事項。

The information explosion in the 21st century has led to unprecedented rapid development in medical technology. The combination of infinite cyberspace and limited budget means that no individual medical library can fulfill the goals of compiling enough data and providing comprehensive service. Inevitably, interlibrary cooperation and resource sharing on the basis of network information has become the most viable solution. For this research, the methods of literature analysis, questionnaire survey and interview were adopted. The questionnaire targeted the Veterans Hospitals NETwork (VHNet) formed by the 17 veterans hospitals in Taiwan, in order to understand its current status, problems, difficulties and users’ satisfaction. The data collected was then compiled and analyzed, so that conclusions and suggestions could be provided.

本研究針對技職體系的技術學院使用者進行探討，探究技職體系的學生對圖書館網站的需求及意見，期望從「使用者觀點」設計符合使用者資訊需求與使用行為的網站，以提昇圖書館網站使用性。
本研究以大漢技術學院圖書館網站為研究個案，以大漢技術學院學生為研究對象。首先採用文獻分析法進行相關文獻的探討，接續以「焦點團體訪談法」及「問卷調查法」進行實徵研究，以探討技專校院學生的資訊需求、技專校院學生對圖書館網站的使用經驗、瞭解技專校院學生理想中的圖書館網站內容或服務項目以及技專校院學生對圖書館網站資訊架構的看法。本研究共進行兩組的焦點團體訪談，及進行348份有效問卷的分析。
研究結論：1.技專校院學生的資訊需求是多元化的，不僅包括學業的，更以日常生活資訊為主，包括工作相關的、升學相關的、經濟、生活資訊、休閒娛樂、地方資訊等等；2.一般大學圖書館網站的資訊內容無法滿足技職校院學生之需求；3.技專校院使用者需求度最高的前十項網站服務項目分別是「提供獎學金、助學金訊息」，其次依序為「就業相關資訊連結」、「證照相關資訊連結」、「本館館藏查詢」、「提供工讀訊息」、「升學相關資訊連結」、「中文資料庫檢索」、「工商產業資訊連結」、「生活資訊連結」、「電子參考工具書連結」；4.技專校院使用者對圖書館網站資訊架構重視程度不高，符合其資訊需求的網站資訊內容或服務項目才是使用者最需要的。
研究建議：1.學校網站首頁應有明顯的圖書館網站連結；2.應依照母機構的性質進行圖書館網站的規劃；3.應多舉辦圖書館網站利用指導及推廣活動以提高圖書館網站的使用率；4.應根據多元化的資訊需求建置網站服務項目；5.應增加圖書館網站的加值功能；6.圖書館館員應發揮資訊組織的能力。

The purpose of this study is to explore the information needs of students at institutes of technology and their attitude toward the library website, with the view of designing a library website that would be more user-oriented to increase its utilization.
The research uses the library website of Dahan Institute of Technology to investigate the information needs of the institute's  students. Interviews and questionnaires were applied from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives to find out the students' usage experience and their opinion of an ideal library website. Two focus groups were interviewed and a total of 348 valid questionnaires were collected.
The following conclusions can be made:
1.Students' information needs are inevitably varied, as they not only require information that supports their studies, but also help them in their daily lives, such as on finding a job, pursuing further studies, financial aid, and recreation and leisure, etc.
2.Most university library websites do not provide contents that meet students' information needs.
3.The top ten services most needed by students from the library website are: information on scholarships/financial support, job links, information on professional certification, library catalogue search, part-time work announcement, information on further studies, Chinese database search, industry and business news, recreational information, and electronic references.
4.Students care little about the structure of the library website, more about the service and content.
The following suggestions can be made:
1.The institute home page should provide a clearly noticeable link to the library website.
2.The library website should be designed and structured in accordance with the institute's features.
3.The library should organize instructional programs and activities to promote the utilization of its website.
4.The library website should provide services of different kinds based on students' information needs.
5.The library website should have enhanced added values.
6.Librarians should make good use of their information organization ability.

網站典藏是一個新興的概念，主要是為了保留瞬息萬變且具文化歷史意涵的網站網頁，近幾年國外已經逐步發展且建立了一些網站典藏系統，然而對於國內的圖書館員來說，卻仍然是一個比較不熟悉的議題。臺灣大學圖書館關注網站典藏的發展已經有很長的一段時間，決定於2006年起著手研發網站典藏系統，期間雖然面臨不少的困難與挑戰，但是也發展了對應的策略。本文介紹國外的網站典藏計畫，再說明臺灣大學網站典藏系統的研發過程、實作細節、問題與困難，期盼分享網站典藏的技術與經驗，提供大家參考。

Web archiving is an emerging concept whose main purpose is to preserve web-sites of cultural or historical significance. In this paper, we describe the NTU Web Archiving System, NTUWAS, that was developed by the National Taiwan University Library and launched in 2006. In order to help readers not be familiar with web archiving, we give a brief survey of current web archiving activities in the world. We then describe the implementation and functionalities of NTUWAS, as well as the difficulties and problems that we encountered when carrying out this project.
