我國大學圖書館數位參考服務發展之研究

摘要

近年來圖書館為因應科技發展與使用者需求,以數位方式進行的參考服務隨之而生。本研究以文獻分析和問卷調查,探討數位參考服務 之意義、內涵、形式與實施狀況,同時瞭解我國大學圖書館位樣參考服務的現況及對其之看法。研究顯示我國部分的大學圖書館數位參考服務,電子郵件是最普遍使用的方式,國內外大學圖書館數位參考服務差異最大的在於線上交談,而聯合數位參考服務是未來的趨勢之一。

Title The Digital Reference Services Development of University Libraries in Taiwan

Abstract

To meet users' need and respond to the development of technology, libraries have begun to devote themselves to digital reference services recently. The study uses literature review and questionnaire survey to explore the following issues: the meaning, scope, forms of digital reference services, and the experiences and attitude toward it. According to the survey, most university libraries in Taiwan provide digital reference services, and E-mail is the most popular form. The local difference between Taiwan and foreign countries is online chatting, and collaborative digital reference services are considered he trend in the future.

餐旅管理領域學生的資訊尋求行為探討

摘要

近年來,國內外經濟環境急據變化,觀光事業的拓展帶來了餐旅業的蓬勃發展,造成餐旅業界人力需求大量增加,國內餐旅管理相關科系亦紛紛成立。餐旅管理學是一個橫跨飲學、旅館學、食品營養學、管理學、觀光學等學科的學門,國內外文獻均少見餐旅管理學系學生的資訊需求相關研究。圖書館是以讀者為導向的機構,不論圖書館的類型為何,其最高服務目標在於滿足讀者的資訊需求。因此,研究者以焦點團體訪談和問卷調查的方式,探討輔仁大學餐旅管理學系學生之資訊需求與資訊尋求行為,研究結果的討論期望提供圖書館參考,為這個領域的師生帶來更為完善的圖書資訊服務。

Title The study of Information Seeking Behavior among Students in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management

Abstract

In recent years, hospitality and tourism education has been prosperously developed in Taiwan. The number of students in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management Department have increased over the years. However, their information needs and information seeking patterns have been ignored in the library and information science literature. In order to explore their interdisciplinary information needs, focus group interviews and questionnaire survey were utilized in 2003 in order to find out information seeking behavior of Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management Department Students at Fu-Jen Catholic University, and the results from the study are provided for improving the quality of library and information services to students and faculty in the hospitality education field.

摘要

圖書賌訊學是一個理論與實務須密切融合且同等重要的學科,在實務界工作的圖書館員除了事務性的工作之外,如果能針對各種實務或理論問題加以研究,並將研究成果以出版的方式與其他同儕分享,將可對領域的進步有重大的貢獻與影響。本文針對臺灣圖書館館員在特定期刊發表之文獻的數量、發表時間與主題分佈狀況、合著與否、使用之研究方法等加以分析。

Practical and theoretical aspects are equally important in the discipline of library and information. Significant improvement of library related research could therefore be fulfilled by studies performed and published by librarians. In this paper, publications of research article in selected journals by librarians from Taiwan were analyzed. Discussions including the number of articles published, research topics, authorship, co-authorship, and research methods were presented.

以XML與CMARC為基礎之編目模組與WebOPAC/WAPOPAC設計

摘要

本研究提出一個適用於CMARC4完整版之XML DTD,並透過系統實作方式,架構一個基於XML之編目、WebOPAC及WAPOPAC模組。本文主要研究成果如下:首先,我們探討CMARC4完整版之DTD在設計時比簡篇更複雜的議題,並提出一個實驗用途但內容完整的版本,可做為相關單位制訂標準時之參考依據;其次,本文透過XML與XSL的相互搭配,可使WebOPAC的檢索結果呈現不同版面格式,而又不影響原始資料結構;再者,我們結合WAP技術,發展一個名為WAPOPAC(WAP-based OPAC)的行動線上公用目錄系統,可透過WAP終端設備來連線,以滿足行動圖書館的通訊需求!

Title Design Cataloguing Module and WebOPAC/WACOPAC Based on XML and CMARC

Abstract

This paper proposes an appropriate DTD for CMARC4, and implements three modules based on XML technology: a cataloguing module, a WebOPAC module and a WAPOPAC module. The research results are as follows: First, we examine some complicated issues of CMARC DTD design. An experimental but complete version involved in CMARC DTD is proposed for reference. Secondary, we combine XML with XSL for WebOPAC to show the query results in a different layout format without affecting the original data structure. Furthermore, we apply the WAP technology to develop an online public catalogue system for mobile access. Which is named WAPOPAC(WAP-based OPAC). The users could use WAP devices to access such a WAP-based mobile library.

摘要

圖書館是一個成長的有機體,為因應科技的進步,必須不斷的將新的科技與作業管理方式引進圖書館,其中以圖書館的自動化系統首當其衝。自動化系統是一種市場商品,有其引進、急速成長、成熟與衰退生命週期,持續的自動化系統轉換是一種生命的事實,亦如美國學者笛加納瑞(Richard De Gennaro)所言,圖書館自動化系統正如一支 移動中的靶(a Moving target),面對資訊科技的持續翻新,圖書館也必須定期的更新圖書館自動化相關技術與統訊息。汲取自動化新知是圖書館學界應定期審視的課題,因此本文擬先對圖書館自動化系統更新之意義與發展特徵進行文獻分析,最後以全國圖書書目資訊網與東吳大學圖書館系統轉換為例,說明系統轉換之過程及問題,提供圖書館同道參考。

國小高年級學生網路資訊尋求行為之研究

摘要

本研究目的在探討國小高年級學生之網路資訊尋求行為,以臺北市河堤國小與市北師實小32名學童為研究對象,研究方法主要為深度訪談與關鍵事件回憶法。研究結果發現:學童最主要的網路搜尋動機為學校作業;其檢索問題多為與學校作業相關者;學童主要的資訊資源管道為網路與父母;且最常利用的搜尋引擎奇摩;在資訊檢索過程中,學童較常利用一次檢索中的直接輸入檢索問題與擷取關鍵詞輸入等方式來查找資料;另一次檢索中的直接輸入網址與點選搜尋引擎之分類目錄的檢索成功率較高;根據訪談結果,方便好用為學童提出網路搜尋資訊之最大優點,找不到資料為最大缺點。

Title An Empirical Study of Internet Information Behavior of Elementary School Students in Their Senior Years

Abstract

This article investigates Internet information seeking behavior of elementary school students in their senior years from “Heti Elementary School” and “Taipei Municipal Teachers College Experimental Elementary School. ”Subjects are 32 senior grades students selected from the above two schools. “In-depth interview” and “critical incident technique” are used as the primary research methods. From the result of this study, we can infer that “school assignments” comprises the primary motive of elementary school students in their senior years. It is for this reason that most questions are asked by these pupils in relation to “school assignments.” Pupils frequently used “the Internet” and “parents” as their primary information resource channels. ”Kimo” was the search engine with the highest usage. During the information search process, pupils tended to perform “a single search” by “directly entering the search question” and “extracting the keyword and entering it.” It is the “directly entering the website address” and “selecting from the search engine’s list of contents” both of which involved using “a single search” that get the highest success rate. In addition, most of pupils believed that “convenient to use “ was the greatest advantage in using the Internet to search for information, while “could not find data” was the most commonly observed isadvantage.

數位物件辨識碼系統之實作

摘要

數位物件辨識系統(Digital Object Identidfier System, DOI System)為一可在數位環境下獨特辨識、描述與連結智慧產物的系統。本研究參考DOI系統架構,依據國內之環境實際建置一套〈LIPS-DOI〉系統,包含列舉、描述與解析模組。以延伸標記語言(Extensible Markup Language, XML)為基礎發展詮釋資料架構,以簡單都柏林核心集(Simple Dublin Core)作為核心應用描述檔案格式,並提供代理解析服務。

Abstract

The Digital Object Identifier (DOI) system is a system for identifying and ex-changing intellectual property in the digital environment. With reference to the DOI's framework, an experimental system named based on Taiwan's environment is reported in this article. This system mostly resembles the DOI system in its three modules: numbering, metadata and resolution. The system framework is based on XML technology, the Dublin Core is used as the Application Profile, and a resolution proxy service is provided as well.

國內大學圖書館書架強震破壞案例分析

摘要

民國88年的921集集大地震,造成臺灣中部圖書館書架損失慘重。位於新竹市甲大學圖書館與中壢市乙大學總圖書館之書架,也同樣遭受到嚴重的破壞。本文利用中央氣象局在此二棟圖書館各樓層已裝設之?震儀,分析這些?震儀於921地震中所記錄之地震反應資料,並輔以兩館之書架平面配置關係、圖書館結構系統與實際震害調查,從中研究圖書館書架在?震中之主要破壞模式與書架發生破壞之原因。本文並為館方提供一些考慮因素,減低書架再度遭受破壞的可能性。

Title Earthquake Damage to Library Cantilever Shelves: A case Study Using Strong Motion Analysis

Abstract

Earthquake damage is not limited merely to the structural integrity of buildings; indeed, the damage to nonstructural components can render facilities entirely inoperable in the aftermath of an earthquake, leading to loss of life or property. In two such instances in Taiwan, the Chi-Chi Earthquake and the Oct. 22 Earthquake of 1999, the cantilever library shelves in one University in Hsin-Chu City and one University in Jung-Li City were seriously damaged due to their lack of earthquake-resistant devices in the shelves. In this paper, we examine flood vibration acceleration records from seismometers installed in several floors of these two libraries by the Central Weather Bureau. The records are analyzed by comparing the shelf arrangement to the library's floor plan. The library's structural system is examined as well, to put these shelf failures in their context, clarifying the cause and pattern of the shelves’ failure. The experiment also yields rules that librarians may use to plan ideal shelving for earthquake-resistant facilities.

資訊素養融入醫學教育之問題導向學習

摘要

過去幾十年來,各國醫學教育界廣泛的推動問題導向式學習(Problem-based Learning,簡稱PBL)。問題導向式學習的主要進行的方式在於透過一系列的問題,提供學生經驗的架框,並藉由解決實際環境中的問題,讓學生經由開放式的學習環境主動探索問題。新的科技的發展,尤其是網際網路所能提供的資訊廣度,更提供學生在問題導向式環境中新的學習機會。在問題導向式學習的環境中,圖書館所扮演的角色日益重要。如何幫助醫學專業的學生建立所需的資訊素養,讓他們能夠在PBL所提供之環境,進行彈性化、開放式,以及自導式的學習也成為醫學圖書館的要務之一。文中除了分析PBL的相關理論、實例之外,也提供了如何透過資訊素養的推廣落實PBL理念

Problem-based learning (PBL) has been widely implemented in medical education asan important pedagogical approach for the last decades. The PBL approach is intended tohelp the learner frame experience as a series of problems and skills to the solution of realproblems in the contexts of real practice. The advent of new technology, specially thewealth of information that can be accessed over the Internet, provides new opportunities oapply aproblem-based learning. As learning in medical schools moving towards Problembasedapproach, the role of library has become increasingly important. How to helpmedical professionals develop needed information literacy is essential to support learning inthe flexible, open, and self-directed learning environment offered by PBL.
