摘要

近年來,圖書館常以部落格(Blog)作為消息發布、閱讀推廣、館藏資源介紹、參考服務等服務之發佈管道,並藉此與讀者交流互動。然而,如何了解使用情形、評估實際效益、並據以後續改進,是值得省思的議題。本研究以「臺大圖書館參考服務部落格」為對象,利用網站計量軟體Google Analytics 做為分析工具,以了解包括該部落格之造訪、點擊、訪客使用工具、訪客流量來源等使用情形,以作為後續改進之建議。

Abstract

In recent years, libraries often use Blog as a tool for news release, reading promotion, library resources introduction, reference service, etc, to communicate with readers. This study analyzed “NTU Library Reference Service Blog” by Google Analytics, which is a well-known web metrics tool. The purposes of the study are: to understand the usage of the blog and to evaluate the actual effectiveness of the blog. The results of the research provided valuable reference for future improvement of the blog.

摘要

大學圖書館的使命在於服務所有使用者的資訊需求,然而其網站的使用頻率
和滿足程度卻幾乎未達到一定的標準,使圖書館員的努力和使用者的期待兩者無
法契合。本研究利用「國立臺灣大學圖書館網站」之中文版本進行網站好用性評
估,以瞭解大學圖書館網站的設計現存哪些障礙,及其使用者的想法為何。結果
發現雖然臺大圖書館網站整體並無嚴重的缺漏,但常以專有名詞進行敘述,而導
覽列中的顏色區格亦不明顯,甚至有內容過多導致導覽列過長的現象。本文根據
研究結果歸納建議,提供臺大圖書館網站介面設計改善之參考。

Abstract

The goal of a university library website is to meet its users’ information needs.
Although librarians endeavor to construct the websites, the users’ satisfaction is still
oftentimes low. Therefore, identifying problems of university library websites and
evaluating the users’ identification with the usability of library websites are important
factors to improve the performance of university library websites.
This study used the Chinese version of National Taiwan University Library
website to conduct usability tests. The results showed that the website often used library
terminology to have prevented users from easy access. In addition, the color contrast
of the navigation bar was not clear enough, with excessive distracting contents to
deter navigation. The results were analyzed to help improve the Chinese version of the
interface design of National Taiwan University Library website.

國立臺灣大學研究生對圖書館學科服務使用情形初探

摘要

2013 年臺大圖書館新成立學科服務組,期望透過學科館員作為與系所師生的聯繫窗口,並深入了解師生的需求,落實圖書館服務,增進支援師生教學、研究與學習上的效能。為此,臺大學科服務組於2013 年9 月推出「學科服務校園列車活動」,實際至各學院介紹圖書館的服務,進行使用者調查,以期了解師生們在教學、研究與學習上的需求以及對圖書館的期望。
本研究旨在探討研究生在研究查找資料時的資訊需求與行為以及使用圖書館學科服務之情形,從資訊需求、搜尋行為、對學科服務的認識、利用、重要性之看法等面向進行探討。本研究採用問卷調查方法,研究結果顯示,研究生在進行研究或查找資料時,使用電子資源的頻率大於使用紙本資源。且優先使用Google搜尋引擎,其次才是從圖書館網頁進行查找。研究生實際到圖書館的頻率,多為「偶爾」,前往圖書館的主要目的為圖書借閱。其對學科服務的主要印象,以參考諮詢服務為主,其他服務所知有限,但對於圖書館的學科服務大都抱持肯定態
度,利用過後的滿意度也相當高。

Title 國立臺灣大學研究生對圖書館學科服務使用情形初探

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to understand the information-seeking behavior and use of information resources by graduate students at the National Taiwan University, and to investigate the usage and satisfaction of subject services of NTU library. This study utilizes the survey data collected via a questionnaire completed by 404 graduate students. The study finds that there is a higher frequency of using electronic resources than print ources in the research process. It also finds that Google is the top choice for gathering information for coursework and research, followed by the library website. Among graduate students, the main purpose of visiting the library, which they only occasionally do, is to borrow printed books. Although there are different dimensions of subject service, the graduate students’ perception of subject services mainly focuses on reference services. Graduate students are generally satisfied with the subject services they have used. The investigation reveals that the general satisfaction level is close to 4 on a scale of 5 measurement for all subject services.

核心期刊館藏支援教師研究需求的評估:以中興大學圖書館為例

摘要

支援全校師生的教學與研究需求向來是大學圖書館責無旁貸的任務,然而綜觀國內外各大學圖書館紛紛面臨經費逐年遞減的窘境,嚴重侵蝕圖書館書刊經費的採購以及整體的經營與發展。因此為了將有限經費用在刀口上,評估並檢視現有的館藏資源強弱與缺失已是迫在眉睫的重要任務。本文作者以中興大學2012 年自然及工程等相關學科的師生投稿SCI 期刊論文所引用的參考書目文獻為研究標的,分析中興大學圖書館核心期刊支援全校師生教學研究的程度。研究結果發現: 一、核心期刊館藏的使用率高於非核心期刊館藏;二、核心期刊館藏在支援本校師生的教學研究程度遠高於非核心期刊館藏。核心期刊的使用率以及支援校內師生研究程度均高於非核心期刊,顯示現階段核心館藏發展策略符合使用者需求。

Abstract
Supporting faculty research is one of the most crucial commitments of an academic library. However, public funding for higher education continues to decrease, seriously eroding the libraries’ purchasing power, as well as its general operation and development. Therefore, the evaluation of current resources and collections becomes an urgently important issue. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the core journal collections of the library effectively support research for the National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) faculty. A citation analysis of journal papers published by science and engineering faculty in 2012 was used to assess the question. Our finding reveals that firstly, the usage of core-journals is much higher than non-core-journals. Secondly, it indicates that core-journals support faculty research more effectively than non-corejournals in the cited references for articles published by NCHU faculty.

摘要

傳統上大學圖書館最主要的任務是支援教學與研究,然而近年來我國各大學圖書館紛紛設置休閒氛圍之閱聽空間,吸引讀者入館。本研究首先回顧國外相關文獻,之後採用半結構性訪談法,以國內十五所大學圖書館的館內76 位使用者為研究對象,試圖從他們的觀點探索大學圖書館之休閒功能。研究問題包括:受訪者利用大學圖書館從事那些休閒活動,以及其休閒使用大學圖書館的原因、時機與感受。研究者建議大學圖書館要回應使用者的需求,開始重視休閒方面的功能,並期望研究結果能提供我國大學圖書館做為重新規劃空間與館藏方向時之參考。

摘要

本研究旨在於探討臺灣地區大學圖書館特色館藏發展,透過已發展特色館藏的大學圖書館分享經驗,供擬規劃發展特色館藏的圖書館參考。本研究利用問卷調查與訪談蒐集資料,在研究結果發現:圖書館因學校性質繼承具特色的資源是最主要的特色館藏發展緣起,特色館藏的發展方式多數涵蓋在館藏發展政策中,學科主題為最常見的特色館藏類別,館舍空間是影響圖書館發展特色館藏的重要因素,建立特色館藏的優點是提升館藏的質量,但卻可能忽略一般館藏發展。同一所圖書館可能會以數種方式管理特色館藏且多數會限制僅在館內利用,但使用權利不因身分別而有所差異,圖書館最常透過自身網站來推廣館內的特色館藏。

Title A Study of the Development of Special Collections in Taiwan’s University Libraries

Abstract

This research attempts to investigate the development of special collections in Taiwan’s university libraries. The data were collected through conducting semi-structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The findings of this research are as follows: The main reason that contributes to the development of special collections is the inheritance of existing resources. In many libraries, the collection development policies cover special collections development. The most common development type of special collections is its subject disciplines, while the major factor that influences the development of special collections is library space. The biggest incentives for developing special collections are the prospect of enhancing the general quality and quantity of the collection. However it may lead to the neglect of the development of general collections. Each library uses a different management style, and the same library may have a number of different styles. Most libraries provide equal access to their special collections for both internal and external patrons, but they are almost always limited to library use only. Using library website is the most common way for a library to promote its special collections.

二十一世紀資訊社會的來臨,傳統知識素養已無法滿足國民與社會的基本需求。在多元文化的社會發展與Interent網際網路快速進步下,高等教育不單只是發揮知識的傳播,應如何培養學生具備獨立學習與養成終身學習能力,已是當前許多教育改革的重點。而圖書館學界適時推出資訊素養觀念,便是迎合社會時代的需要。資訊素養是指培育國民具備瞭解資訊的價值,對所需要的資訊能使用適當的資訊工具,有效地查詢、蒐集、組織、評估與利用。因此,如何培養大學生具備資訊素養能力,是當今大學教育應努力的議題。本論文探索資訊素養的概念及其教學理論,並嘗試運用於「資料蒐集與報告寫作」的課程設計與教學方法。

Traditional literacy, which emphasizes on people's skills of reading, writing, and calculating, will not be sufficient for citizens in the 21st century. The information society/Internet intensifies the need for information literacy in higher education. Many academic libraries in college or university offer course-integrated instruction of information literacy program to fit the needs of educational reformation. An information literate citizen is a person who must be able to recognize when information is needed and has the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information. How to prepare college students to be infor¬mation literate is a crucial goal in today's higher education. The paper is not only reviews the educational information literacy models and applies information lit-eracy conception to design the course of " Data Collection and Writing Research Papers".

線上遊戲在大學圖書館利用指導之應用

大學圖書館的任務在於支援教學、學習與研究,為使學生能善用資源促進學習,圖書館利用教育乃為大學圖書館重要工作之一。為吸引學生的學習興趣,早於 1980年代即有圖書館應用電腦遊戲以實施圖書館利用指導教育的例子,而現今在網路與數位科技已成為生活一部分的時代裏,遊戲更是年輕學子的最愛。有鑑於此,國立臺灣大學圖書館遂於 2011年推出「探索遊樂園」線上遊戲,期以寓教於樂的方式教導大一新生認識與利用圖書館的服務和資源。本文主要從圖書館實務工作的觀點出發,首先簡介美國各大學圖書館應用電腦遊戲或線上遊戲以實施圖書館利用教育的情況和實務案例,繼而以國立臺灣大學圖書館推出的「探索遊樂園」為例,敘述其建置過程、遊戲內容的教學設計及粗淺的讀者使用調查結果,試圖經由工作上的實務運作,探討以線上遊戲方式來實施圖書館利用教育是否能達成吸引學生興趣之目的,並將此實務經驗提供給圖書館界同道參考。

Title Library Instruction through Library Games in Academic Libraries

Abstract

Teaching undergraduate students how to use the library is one of the important tasks of academic libraries. To attract freshmen to participate in a library instruction program or information literacy program, there are many university libraries that have designed computer games, web-based games, digital games, or online games in the United States of America. In September 2011, National Taiwan University Library released a new e-learning course called “NTUL Wonderland” for incoming students’ library instruction program. This article introduces several cases of using online games for teaching information literacy and library skills in American universities, and then, describes the development, implementation, and users’ satisfaction survey of “NTUL Wonderland” at National Taiwan University.

迎接數位時代的來臨,大學圖書館需重新審視學術傳播的改變及因應之道。本文首先由相關研究報告勾勒大學圖書館未來發展趨勢,其次探討學術傳播的定義與功能、學術傳播的變遷與相關議題以及學術傳播的新模式,再闡述美國大學圖書館如何擬定學術傳播計畫的宣導策略,最後建議大學圖書館在學術傳播體系可以扮演的角色。

Abstract

With the existence of the digital age, academic libraries need to respond to the challenges of scholarly communications. This paper begins with research reports which foreboded future trends of development, and then follows the definitions, functions, evolution, issues and new models of scholarly communications. Promotion and advocacy for the concept of scholarly communications by famous academic libraries in the United States have been examined, and recommendations of possible roles for academic libraries with a scholarly communication system are being proposed.
