修復歷史美聲:78轉蟲膠唱片的修補

摘要

78轉蟲膠唱片是留聲機專用唱片,出版年代約為 1890到 1950年,其內容記錄當時的樂音,呈現社會文化等多元風貌,為彌足珍貴的歷史文物。由於其質硬但易碎,加上天災與保存不當等因素,許多遺留下來的 78轉蟲膠唱片,多有破裂損傷的情形,亟需修補始能聆聽完整內容。本文敘述 78轉蟲膠唱片的特性與價值,並說明各種破損情形的修補步驟,以期能妥善保存此類文物。

Abstract

78 rpm records published between 1890 and 1950 for gramophones are culture antiquities, but their shellac platters are extremely fragile, cracking and vulnerable to breakage. For cultural heritage preservation, this article describes the distinguishing characteristics, values and detailed repairing procedures of old shellac 78 rpm records.

大學生於社群網站之資訊揭露現象分析

摘要

社群網站是一個相當年輕,但卻快速成長的網路現象。為了解大學生於社群網站的資訊揭露行為,本研究以社會交換理論( Social Exchange Theory, SET)為基礎,探索大學生使用 Facebook之自我揭露行為。研究結果顯示參與社群網站大學生之資訊揭露行為模式,符合 SET的主張,同時得知大學生參與社群網站的動機、行動、報酬及成本等因素為何。最後除提出一個大學生於社群網站資訊揭露的行為模式外,並提出建議供教育人員及社群網站經營者參考,以建構健全的網路社群。

Abstract

Online social networks (OSNs) are emerging as a young but rapidly growing phenomenon on the web. This study attempts to explore the behaviors and factors of self-disclosure of online social network (OSN) users with the theoretical insights of Social Exchange Theory (SET). The results show that self-disclosure behavioral patterns of college students are in line with the idea of SET, it also addresses college students’ motivation, rational action, rewards, and cost factors of joining Facebook. Finally, a research model of information disclosure behavior pattern for college students is addressed. We also provide insights for OSN service providers and educators to cultivate a healthier online community.

加拿大 CIP機制之探討

出版品預行編目( CIP)是出版業者與圖書館界通力合作的一項自願性計畫。加拿大自 1976年 1月即開始實施 CIP計畫,採分散制,目前由加拿大國家圖書館暨檔案館( LAC)統籌負責協調管理。經過 30餘年進展 CIP機制在加拿大已樹立完善體制,近年來 LAC更進一步將 CIP資源延伸為相關的新書資訊服務(NBS)。本研究主要從回顧 CIP施行概況、作業實務、計畫前瞻、與機制評析,探討 LAC實施多年有成的 CIP計畫作業與服務,最後並在結語中提出芻議,以供相關各界參考。

Title A Study of the Canadian CIP Program

Abstract

Cataloging in Publication (CIP) is a free cooperative venture between publishers and libraries which enables books to be catalogued before they are published. Since January 1976, Canada began implementation of the CIP program of a decentralized system. Currently, the Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is responsible for overall coordination and management of the implementation of CIP program. In recent years, LAC further implements resources of CIP to appear in "New Books Service (NBS)", an online service showcasing new Canadian publications. NBS is an enhancement to the CIP program. From the past and future of a CIP program, management, practices, characteristics of a CIP program, this article mainly discusses the mechanism of CIP services which have been implemented more than thirty years in Candian sufficiently and successfully. In conclusion, the author will advise some rustic opinions of enhancement and improvement of CIP service in Taiwan.

線上遊戲在大學圖書館利用指導之應用

摘要

大學圖書館的任務在於支援教學、學習與研究,為使學生能善用資源促進學習,圖書館利用教育乃為大學圖書館重要工作之一。為吸引學生的學習興趣,早於 1980年代即有圖書館應用電腦遊戲以實施圖書館利用指導教育的例子,而現今在網路與數位科技已成為生活一部分的時代裏,遊戲更是年輕學子的最愛。有鑑於此,國立臺灣大學圖書館遂於 2011年推出「探索遊樂園」線上遊戲,期以寓教於樂的方式教導大一新生認識與利用圖書館的服務和資源。本文主要從圖書館實務工作的觀點出發,首先簡介美國各大學圖書館應用電腦遊戲或線上遊戲以實施圖書館利用教育的情況和實務案例,繼而以國立臺灣大學圖書館推出的「探索遊樂園」為例,敘述其建置過程、遊戲內容的教學設計及粗淺的讀者使用調查結果,試圖經由工作上的實務運作,探討以線上遊戲方式來實施圖書館利用教育是否能達成吸引學生興趣之目的,並將此實務經驗提供給圖書館界同道參考。

Title Library Instruction through Library Games in Academic Libraries

Abstract

Teaching undergraduate students how to use the library is one of the important tasks of academic libraries. To attract freshmen to participate in a library instruction program or information literacy program, there are many university libraries that have designed computer games, web-based games, digital games, or online games in the United States of America. In September 2011, National Taiwan University Library released a new e-learning course called “NTUL Wonderland” for incoming students’ library instruction program. This article introduces several cases of using online games for teaching information literacy and library skills in American universities, and then, describes the development, implementation, and users’ satisfaction survey of “NTUL Wonderland” at National Taiwan University.

臺灣學術電子書聯盟營運模式對國內大學圖書館館藏發展之影響

摘要

本研究採用深度訪談法及問卷調查法,探討臺灣學術電子書聯盟( TAEBC)之營運模式及其對大學圖書館館藏發展之影響。研究結果顯示,團隊合作之組織分工模式為 TAEBC最大的特色與優勢,此種模式充分展現館際合作的精神,不僅有助於大學圖書館館藏量的擴增,並藉由推動小組對書單的把關、成員館館員與教師參與選書過程,以及主題比重的均衡分配等方式,強化館藏之深度與廣度,同時亦改變了大學圖書館館藏選擇、採購以及管理工作。然而,該聯盟的選書方向與大學圖書館的期待仍有落差,如何設計出最切合不同屬性會員需求的選書機制,並且持續強化推廣與使用成效,成為聯盟下一階段的任務與挑戰。

Title The Impact of the Operation Model of Taiwan Academic E-Books Consortium on Collection Development of University Libraries in Taiwan

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the operation model of Taiwan Academic E-Books Consortium (TAEBC) and its effect on the collection development of university libraries in Taiwan. Methods of this research include interviews and a questionnaire. The findings show that the cooperative model of a working group is the distinguished characteristic of TAEBC, and that it demonstrates the spirit of cooperation among libraries. It is helpful to improve the quantity and quality of library collection, and it also changes the selection and acquisition procedures as well as the work of collection management in university libraries. However, there is a gap between the direction of TAEBC’s selection policy and the expectations of member libraries. Designing a selection mechanism to meet the needs of members with different attributes and continuing to strengthen the effectiveness of promotion will be the next tasks and challenges of TAEBC.

檔案立案編目是各項檔案管理作業的基礎工作,檔案法施行已逾十年,我國檔案中央主管機關雖已明定相關作業規範,但機關實務作業仍常見若干問題,亟待檢討改善。為期我國機關檔案立案編目作業更臻完善,提升檔案目錄品質,本文首先由檔案目錄之功能論述檔案立案編目之重要性及彼此關聯,並闡述我國機關檔案立案編目作業發展現況與問題,最後則針對如何做好機關檔案立案編目作業提出幾點建議。

Notwithstanding, The Archives Act has been promulgated for 10 years, however, there are a lot of problems regarding the quality of government agency records, arrangement and description that need to be improved. Also, the current development, problems of arrangement, and description of government agency records will be discussed. Finally, several suggestions of promoting records, arrangement, and description are proposed. With the existence of the digital age, academic libraries need to respond to the challenges of scholarly communications. This paper begins with research reports which foreboded future trends of development, and then follows the definitions, functions, evolution, issues and new models of scholarly communications. Promotion and advocacy for the concept of scholarly communications by famous academic libraries in the United States have been examined, and recommendations of possible roles for academic libraries with a scholarly communication system are being proposed.
